Locally famous in Austin for a very good reason. I order the Beef with Green Onion off menu and it is always perfect. The comically overstuffed Crab Rangoon's are homemade along with the sauces and I promise you can taste the difference. In an age of settling on whatever Doordash can quickly deliver, the requirement of quality is something more of us should be in pursuit of.

This had to be one of the most satisfying and amazing restaurants i've ever been to. we ordered the wontons in hot chili oil and the cucumber salad to start with, and dan dan noodles and pork lo mein for the main course. everything was so perfect. i will probably be thinking about the wontons and the cucumber salad for the rest of my life. the dan dan noodles and pork lo mein are amazing too. the service was so friendly and amazing, everybody was so nice and welcoming :) and the place itself is super pretty and calming, genuinely nothing could make it better. i will be coming back here probably on a weekly basis because i want to try everything on the menu. :D

Sichuan River is insanely good food. They do the Chinese-American classics fine, but you come here for the numbing tingle of Sichuan peppercorns. Mapo tofu is the crown jewel, but Mala beef, eggplant in garlic sauce and dan dan noodles are amazing too. We get takeout here once a month, but the dine-in experience is as authentic as the food, so don't be offended. It's a family-run restaurant. Enjoy!
